The first miracle that Jesus performs in His public ministry is at a wedding – He turns water into wine! It’s an amazing story, but it’s even more amazing when we see it in light of the larger theme of the Gospel of John.
John is writing to reveal the glory of Christ with the goal of helping us see and believe in who Jesus really is – the Son of God (John 1:14; 20:30-31). As we consider the miracle of water to wine we will focus on how this miracle reveals the glory of Christ and how we should respond (John 1:11).
