As we come to the Fifth Commandment we come to a transition point. The first four commandments are vertical commandments. - They are all about our relationship with God and how we should relate to Him. The last six commandments are horizontal commandments - They are all about our relationships with other people and how we relate to them. The first of the second set of commandments deals with our first human relationship – our relationship with our parents.
