Clarifying the Gospel

Back to Message Archive

Ever been around Christians who are discussing or even squabbling over what the Bible says about a certain topic? We all have, right? Most of us have been in those discussions. I have had more than my fair share. With that being the case, let me point out that we as Christians need to be careful with these conversations because our goal always ought to be the building up of our brothers and sisters as well as ourselves and through all of this we should want to see God glorified and magnified. With these disclaimers in mind these conversations can be very important. Why are they important? Because what God’s Word says on issues is important and we want to do all that we can to know God well and live for Him in accordance with His will, for His glory and our joy. Since our knowledge is imperfect we need dialog to clarify our understanding of the Gospel or the Gospel applied or perhaps God will use us to help clarify His truth for someone else.

In our passage tonight we see an all-star cast of leaders in the New Testament working through an issue in efford to clarify the truth of the Gospel. There is no greater body of truth to spend time considering and we can't afford to get the Gospel wrong, so join us as we spend time in God's Word getting a more clear view of the Gospel.
