Any command that Jesus gives is authorativtive as He is God, but the commands we hear from Jesus in this week's passage stand above the rest as Jesus prioritizes them as the "most important" of all the commands contained within the Old Testament Scriptures. Jesus shared that all the other commands in the Scriptures hang off these two foundational commands, however, even if you know these commands and strive to live by them you will be "close, but not actually in the Kingdom of God" as Jesus states.
