When the Disciples initially confessed Jesus as the Christ in Mark 8, they thought they had a good idea of what His mission was was as God's annointed one, but as soon as they thought they had a clear view of Jesus He flipped everything upside down by sharing the road of suffering He was walking on. This changed everything, it even changed what it meant for them to be His followers. Jesus goes on to share what it means to be one of His followers. Following Jesus is a call to death.
