Reading the Scriptures Together - Week of August 26, 2018

Reading the Scriptures Together is a weekly post that is intended to serve as an extension of our Sunday Sermons and encourage us to read the Scriptures everyday.

Overview of This Week’s Reading: Preparing for a New Sermon Series

On September 23 we will be starting a new sermon series, a walk through the book of Colossians. In order to help us prepare our hearts and minds for that study the next few weeks will be devoted to getting us really familiar with this incredible book.

Each Monday and Saturday will continue to be dedicated to focusing on the passages from our Sunday gatherings, but Tuesday-Friday will be given to Colossians. I think this repetitive reading will allow us to have a great understanding of the flow and big ideas of the book which will be really valuable as we start walking through Colossians verse by verse.

Monday: Psalm 66 - Take time to read the Psalm that we considered on Sunday. The notes from the message are available on our website.

Tuesday: Colossians 1

Wednesday: Colossians 2

Thursday: Colossians 3

Friday: Colossians 4

Saturday - Preparing for Sunday: 1 Corinthians 10-11 - Read 1 Corinthians 10-11 in preparation for our service on Sunday. We will be focusing on what these chapters teach about the Lord’s Supper, our union with Christ and our union with one another in Christ.
