The Prodigal Son is one of the most popular parables that Jesus ever told. It so so popular b/c it paints such a strong picture of God the Father as one who is full of grace and mercy. As we walk through this story we see that God is not an emotionless being in Heaven who flippantly observes human behavior, but rather God is passionatley for people and longs to see them turn from sin and turn towards Him. The story of the prodigal son shows how very true this is.
