Our Weekend With Lifepoint
Our team was incredibly blessed to spend this past weekend with Lifepoint Baptist Church in Centerton, Arkansas. Lifepoint has a special place in our hearts because it was started by someone who means a lot to us. Mike Brinson served as the college pastor at Cherry Street Baptist Church in Springfield, Missouri for many years and it was under his ministry that our team met one another and became friends. In many ways our team is a product of the efforts of Mike and his wife Lori. They taught us a great deal about loving God and serving him passionately and we will always be thankful for the part that they played in our lives. In 2008 Mike and his family moved to northwest Arkansas to establish Lifepoint Baptist Church and it has been exciting to see all that God has done through them.
It was very exciting for us to spend time with Lifepoint because they are such a new church. Lifepoint is only three years old and it is very cool to see God working in that young body of believers. In many ways they are walking the path that we hope Southern Hills will be walking over the next few years. It was a joy to spend much of the weekend asking questions and learning from Mike, Lori and the people of Lifepoint.
No doubt the highlight of the weekend was Sunday morning. We enjoyed sitting under Mike’s teaching and worshiping with the people of Lifepoint. They are an encouraging church and spending time with them energized us. Also, we had the privilege of sharing our plans for Southern Hills in two different worship services. It is always an honor to tell others what God is doing in our lives and in our ministry. We are eager to see what God has in store for us in Round Rock and north Austin and sharing our plans only increases our excitement. We were thankful for the many people who said they will be joining us in praying for Southern Hills.
We want to thank Mike, Lori and the people of Lifepoint for allowing us to join them this past weekend and we pray that God will continue to do great things through them in northwest Arkansas.
