Let's read the Bible together in 2021!

As we start a new year we are also starting a new plan for reading the Scriptures together. After a few years of reading the Bible straight through from Genesis to Revelation, this year we are going to take a different approach.

It's no secret that it is easy to start off strong and then lose momentum. In an effort to help us stay consistent, we are going to start in a different place, set a different pace and also allow some time for catch up and deeper study.

This year we are going to start the year with the New Testament. We are also going to go at a little slower pace than plans we have used before.

Here's a summary of the plan

  • Read 2 chapters per day (starting in the Gospel of Matthew)

  • Read Monday - Friday (starting January 4)

  • Use the weekends for review, catch up or deeper study

  • We will finish the New Testament in 26 weeks (six months)

As a church we believe that the Scriptures are God's Word and that they are vital to our spiritual growth. We also think there is value in reading the Scriptures together. This allows us to be accountable to one another and also to share conversations along the way.

We hope you will choose to participate, but if you don't the most important thing is that you make a plan for reading God's Word. The pace or plan is not as important as your commitment to learning and growing. It is our prayer that 2021 will be a year when as a church we grow in our knowledge, understanding and application of the Scriptures.
