A Weekend with Faith Baptist Church
Ever since Southern Hills began gathering in 2011 we have had this as our purpose statement:
We are a family of believers who exist to glorify God by helping people experience life change through the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
By God's grace and His kindness we have spent almost 12 years together with this purpose statement driving everything we do. We have also continued asking God to give us more opportunity to work toward this end.
Recently we were brought into a conversation to consider the potential of partnering with another local congregation. We immediately began asking God if this would be a way that we could glorify Him and have more opportunity to help people experience life change through the Gospel.
After many conversations and much prayer we are moving into a new phase of exploring this opportunity and this is something we all need to do together.
On the weekend of March 11-12 we will be spending time with Faith Baptist Church. We will have time for fellowship, a time to worship together and a time for conversation about this opportunity of joining together.
Here's the schedule (All of these will take place at Faith Baptist Church)
- Saturday, March 11 at 5pm - Dinner and Fellowship - We will gather with Faith Baptist Church at their church building to share a meal and spend time getting to know one another. FBC will provide chicken and drinks and everyone attending is asked to bring a side dish or dessert to share.
- Sunday Morning, March 12 at 11am - Sunday Worship Gathering - We will gather with Faith Baptist for Sunday Worship at their building. This is an opportunity for us to worship together and and get to know our brothers and sisters at Faith Baptist. You are also invited to attend Sunday School starting at 10am.
- Sunday Evening, March 12 at 7:00pm - Testimony and Q&A - On Sunday evening Faith Baptist will have an opportunity to hear more about Southern Hills and ask questions of Matthew. While this time is primarily an opportunity for Faith to ask questions, you are invited (and encouraged) to be there to hear the conversation.
As you can probably guess, this is going to be a very important weekend in the life of our church. We hope you will make every effort to be there for all three of these times together.
We are asking God to continue to use us for His purposes. We hope that you will continue to pray for His will to be done.
If you have any questions please reach out.
You are loved.
